Many thanks to Atul Dada for the corrections!

He also mentioned that there was another line in the original 'काशी मरत, मुक्त करत, कहत राम नाम'. But, Ram Nam is so powerful that regardless of where you stay, it has the power to remove sins and liberate the person. Hence, the ramparivar version is 'पाप कटत, मुक्त करत, एक राम नाम'.

Meaning of Bhajan from Vahini.org

Recite the name of Lord Rama
with the heart and mind full of love and devotion.

Reciting the name of Lord Rama frees from sins and miseries
and helps to cross the ocean of life and death (samsara).

So powerful is Lord Rama's name that it brings eternal peace and bliss
and is the only support of those who have no support.

So loving and so divine is Lord Rama's name that sages and saints
always have only Lord Rama's name in their hearts.

O Lord Rama! Thou art my mother, father,
relation, friend, everything and all.

The only life-long treasure of the devotee is Thy name.
Chant the mantra 'Rama Rama Ram'.

Shree ने कहा…

My dear Shree Devi,

Your mail brings to me remembrance of our childhood, when at several occassions and specifically on Janmashtmi and Sharad Purnima day, we used to have this bhajan. If my childhood memory is correct, respected Krishna bua used to sing this bhajan.

The correct sequence and words of stanzas as per my bhajan diary are slightly different from those given by you. I am attaching pdf file named "Prem Mudit" - as per my diary.

Bhajans are the identity of our Shri Ram Parivar.

Best wishes to you and children

Atul dada
